Processing OSCON

One of the cool things about OSCON: chatting with Ward Cunningham  about his federated wiki project.

That’s right, Ward was over in the hardware row not at the New Relic booth. He was demoing a hardware based sensor feeding data into a federated wiki. He was nice enough to take about 10 minutes to walk me through the design of federated wikis and highlighted the Smallest Federated Wiki on Github (linked above).

I’m still wrapping my head around the ideas, but this is exactly the reason to go to events like OSCON. You can chat with excellent people doing excellent work that challenges your brain.

Oh, and you can find out you have a doppelganger in the OpenStack community when folks keep asking if they met you in Hong Kong last year… My doppelganger is much better traveled than I.
